I've used Castrol GTX 10w40 for years in all my vehicles. It's a good oil and is fairly cheap, about $1.5 US per liter.
An oil change requires 1.8 liters without filter, 2.0 liters with the filter. I change my oil every 3 or 4 months regardless of mileage, and before any major road trip.
